KHARGONE: At 46 degrees Celsius, Khargone in MP was the hottest city in India on Saturday along with Jaisalmer of Rajasthan . Bhopal Met director R Balasubramaniam told TOI that Khargone district headquarters was the joint hottest place in the country along with Jaisalmer of Rajasthan at 46 degree Celsius. He said, "In western part of India particularly in Rajasthan and Gujarat, temperature is increasing, so the corresponding temperature in West MP is also shooting up."
Northwesterly winds are getting stronger bringing more hot and dry weather, he added.
Cyclone Mocha is intensifying in the Eastern part of the country, dragging the wind from west to east direction to bring more hot and dry weather in MP, he added. Heat waves continued to prevail in Ratlam, Khargone and Dhar.
There was a significant increase of 4 degree Celsius in temperature in Khargone in the last 24 hours. On Friday, the maximum temperature was 42 degree Celsius while minimum temperature rose to 23.8 degree Celsius from 23.6 degree Celsius to trouble people who opted to stay at home.
